The Church Needs You

Do you ever find yourself wondering where you fit in this world? How about where you fit in your family, workplace, or friend group? Do you ever feel like you aren’t that valuable or you could easily be replaced? When it comes to church, do you feel like just another face in the crowd? Sometimes the answers to these questions can lead us into disappointment or discouragement. What if the answers could lead you into joy, confidence and fulfillment?

You Need the Church

Have you ever had someone try to sell you something you knew you could get somewhere else for less money? Ever had someone want you to go to a class or buy a membership when you knew you could get the same benefit at home or watching a video? Have you ever felt that same way about church? You know what church provides, but what if you can get what it provides without having to go or commit to church? This week we continued our series, WHY CHURCH? We talked about this very issue and learned that church provides what you can’t get any place else. Sound like another sales pitch? Come and listen for yourself.

You Are the Church!

It’s Labor Day weekend. Summer’s over. Many schools have already begun and the rest will get underway this week. The first day of Fall will soon be upon us and the autumn leaves are about to explode in the bright colors of a new season. In many ways, September is a unique opportunity for a fresh start. It may be that after the change of schedule that summer often brings, you also need a fresh start spiritually. One of the most important parts of your spiritual life is the church. So, as you get back into your routine, I believe it’s a great time for us to be reminded about the significance of the church. And that’s why we have designed a three-week series that we’re calling . . . WHY CHURCH?

God Wants Obedience

Over the years I have learned that if I am going to experience any measure of success or accomplishment in anything, I’m going to have to put in the time and effort to make that happen. To use the theme of our summer message series, it takes an ALL IN attitude! So whether it’s music, soccer, volleyball, golf, good grades in school, your job, marriage, finances, hunting, fishing, your family, relationships with whoever . . . you will have to give it your best. Success in anything will require willingness and commitment. This is also true of your spiritual life. And yet so many seem to struggle with their walk with God because they simply don’t understand that just like everything else in life . . . it takes a willingness to give Him our best! Listen as we examine the lives of a couple of the most famous brothers in the Bible and see what made the difference in their relationship with the LORD.

All In: Wrap-Up

All In: Heart

Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

All In: Leadership

What are the desires, dreams or directions that shape the choices you make each day? How willing would you be to set all of them aside to allow God to accomplish something different than you have in mind? What if we wanted to do something in your children’s life or in the lives of those you lead, but it required that kind of sacrifice on your part? Would you willingly surrender them? This Sunday we will be continuing our ALL IN series by looking at the sacrifices Joseph and Mary made, and the outcome those sacrifices allowed. From their example, we will be able to examine our own willingness to make sacrifices to see if in fact we are ALL IN.
